I normally drive right by Red-winged Blackbirds, but this little guy seemed to have the right light and made a contortionist move mid shutter burst.

Canon 1DX; 500mm F/4L IS USM
F/7.1, 1/2500, ISO 2500
LR5: Cropping, tone adjustments, reduced the luminance & saturation on the Red wings
PS: Removed several distracting sticks.

A very unique and well capture image Jerry. Nice job with exp and sharpness is very good too. Love the red on the wings.

Interesting pose that really shows of the 'red-wing'.

Fantastic Jerry. The exposure looks perfect and the whole bird is pin sharp. I can't see any sign of the cloning either. I've still not worked out which why it's head should actually be which add great interest.

Fun behavior image and the blacks look great. The reds are looking a bit hot as I am not seeing much in terms of details there. Good job on the cloning since I don't see any evidence!

Sharp with a neat pose. I am betting that adding 60-90 points of CYAN to the REDs in Selective Color would bring the detail back to those red epaulets.....

Thanks to all for the comments. I agree that I would have loved to see more details in the reds, and tried the suggestions (even tried the NIK detail extractor). Alas, no joy. However, I did learn some new techniques - the beauty of getting other eyes on a shot.
