I played around with some shallow depth of field recently at Rietvlei Nature Reserve... Unfortunately the 500mm could just go to F4, but happy with the results...

Hi Rudi,
great shot and the very off center placement of the main area works very good here.
Very good job in all terms………… well done.

Simple but effective and well done here Rudi, with good DOF and contrast on this conv.

Superb image Rudi, the eye and those long, long lashes are just pure magic! From very sharp to a soft blur, my eyes love what they see:S3:...beautifully processed and presented, congratulations!

Nice DOF experiment indeed! Just wondering - the width of the left side is a bit overwhelming for me - how about a 2nd crop - square and/or vertical?

Rudy,
Just perfect. Excellent crop. Perfect focus on where it is needed. Great tones in B&W.

This works well, mate. Like it loads. Seen many interpretations of this one but the "wider pano" feel is great here.
