A 1st Winter bird, shot on a local beach in Bournemouth, the Gull was perched on a wooden Groyne, a wave gave it a not so gentle lift off.

Like it Joe. Great mixture with the bird and water spray -bit like I get with my bathing pool birds on a bigger scale !!
Nice one.

Great splash and very good sharpness! A slight head turn towards us would have improved the image, but at least the bird was looking down at the water. I might go slightly brighter overall.

Wow great timing and I like the exposure, I am not sure if I would recognise anIceland gull or indeed if I had ever seen one so I cannot comments on the gull's exposure but as Doug suggested maybe just a little brighter? I think this would make the image even more imposing.

What a totally different kind of shot. Very amusing and interesting to see. I'm not sure about going brighter it looks like with all that white water (splash) your on the edge of blowing some highlights as it is. Would be interesting if you posted a brighter one to see though.

Great timing Joe. As others have mentioned, meybe a little selective brightening of the gull may help, but it would need to be subtle. Overall though, a good interesting shot
