Some Am. Robins over-winter here, but this one may have been a newly arrived migrant, in a small flock stripping away the berries from a wild multiflora rose, locally and recently.

Taken from my vehicle. Nikon D7000, 300 f4 AF-S, 1.4TC.

Manual exp., 1/2500, f7.1, ISO400. Processed in LR5. Adjustments to color, curves, noise etc. Canvas added to left. A stick crossing in front of the near leg cloned out.

Thanks for looking and comments.

Great jumping pose and berry in the mouth. Not sure what you did to the bird but it is surely over-done; the bird looks completely unnatural and quite a bit cut and pasted.

Hi,

Actually all I did was to selectively sharpen the bird a bit and removed some oof tree branches and then smoothed out the color in the sky. I didn't cut or paste anything. But I see what you mean.

Hi again,

Here's the image after basic processing the Raw file in LR but without any cropping, adding canvas, cloning, cleaning up the bg, extra sharpening or smoothing the sky etc. Is this version more acceptable?

Thanks,

Richard

Hi Richard

I like the repost it looks much more natural. I think the original may just be over sharpened?
Great action moment captured here.

Really nice pose, and the 2nd version posted is much more pleasing. I'd still suggest you do the cloning the same as the 1st version - i.e. the twig through the left leg, and the one in front of the right leg.

The repost is a huge improvement....
