Thorhild County, Alberta, Canada.
Canon EOS 5D2 | Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS.
Manual mode, 1/1000 sec., f/5.6, ISO 1250, handheld.

The owl was baited. However, the image was captured when the owl was released after banding.

All C&Cs are welcome!

Thanks,
Raymond

Sharp. Nice bird. Nice light. Near wing position less than ideal. BKGR relatively pleasing. Was the bird baited by the banders?

It was baited by a bander. I agree that the near wing position was less than ideal as the bird was slightly banking.

I like the snow and environment, wish for better wing position and a tighter crop with more details on the owl.

Focus is bang on detail is good, I like the environment just wish the bird was a tad larger in the frame.

I agree with the above critiques.
I would definitely crop tighter. The HA is perfect and I like the IQ,
Gail

Thanks for the above comments! My initial thinking of image is to crop/frame the subject relative to the background. Here's the re-edit:

What a cool species to get in flight. The repost does it for me and I love the subtle colors in the bg.
