I'm heading to Rockport, Tx for a week. Looks like a real hotspot, but wondering if anyone has any 'don't miss it' suggestions of spots to check out for good bird photo opportunities.

I would recommend a rookery tour with Kevin Sims http://texasbirdingphotos.net/ . The Texas Photo Ranch is pretty close as well http://www.texasphotoranch.com/

There are also some other photo ranches set up specifically for photography about 3-4 hours drive south of the Rockport area. For anything other than water birds you will have much higher success getting good photos at one of these ranches than in public parks.
