A captive gator from the farm. I liked the play of light, colors and textures on the water. Thanks for looking!

I too like the play of light and color. In addition, you've controlled dof sufficiently that the pattern on the gator's back still looks well-defined despite the focus on the eyes. I like the centering of the image and the rounded ripples at the nose.

Shawn,

Nice work and you know I like this type of image from the gator farms. Next time you might try two images. One on the nose and one on the eye then combine them in PS. This gets the head in focus. In this type of image I like to leave the back OOF as it adds depth to the image.

Great composition Shawn I really like it !!! Never thought about combining for added dof but do like Robert's suggestion .... at least they don't move much !!!!

I really like the composition and the way the head is in sunlight while the back is darker.

Thank you all for your kind words! Robert, I need to get used to thinking about taking more than one image's focal point to later combine in pp. This would have been the perfect subject to do that with!

Really like the eys and the colors in the water as well. The tight crop adds alot of impact.
