Evening Grosbeak (male).

Took a day trip to Algonquin Park last Thursday with the Evening Grosbeak as the main target species...I knew there was a sizeable flock frequenting the park's visitor centre feeders so I came armed with perches and seeds and setup around them. They did not disappoint, with many opportunities offered throughout the morning.

Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/200s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld while sitting in the snow with lens resting on raised knees, small crop for comp, a couple of highlights in the BG toned down via low-opacity soft-brush clone tool.
