The heron was carrying nest building material and I guess one twig got stuck to its far wing.

Very nice flight shot! I like seeing the top of the wing and like the exposure, with very nice shadow and highlight details. I wonder if the twig is in its mouth but only on the right side so we don't see the end sticking out our side.

I think I'd clone out the OOF white stuff in the upper right.

What Diane said. It looks like the twig is stuck onto its wing!

Just curious, since pics like this usually come from mega primes like the 500mm - what lens were you using?

nice lighting, detail and story. I see Dianes point about the distracting "white stuff" and agree.

Thanks diane, Tobie and Willie, The white stuff is OOF houses in the distance. Will try and clone em out. Tobie the lens I was using was the 500 f/4 II with 1.4 X TC III.

Nice image Sanjeev,

The stick adds interest to the image and I like the pose of the bird with its wing down. I would also clone out the circular white oof area in front of the bird. It is hard to tell from the posted image but the head looks very slightly soft compared to the wing. That might just be me though.

Sanjeev, this is a really nice capture with soft light plus what the others have already mentioned. Only critique to add would be a crop to similar, in addition remove the oof blob to the front of the bird. Nicely done!
