Captured this in a wooded area, near to Loch Garten, Cairngorm, Scotland.
Conditions were very wet on a dull day

Hi William
The bird is spot on and I know how hard they can be. Its the crop/composition that worries me a little. Would ittake a vertical ? I think it would look much better.
Cheers
John

I like the bird capture, I have several also of this tough bird and always got to a vertical crop.....trees seem to suggest that to me. I like the color of your more olive birds, ours over here are more grey/brown.

William I think you did really well under the shooting conditions! The lens needed pointing further to the right ideally. The crop option previously mentioned would be my personal choice in this situation. Good effort and thanks for sharing this difficult (for me at least) bird to photograph.

Yep, much better. Personally I'd add a touch more to the right as it's looking a bit tight now. This will also help to take him off center and give him some space to look into.

Yep, these guys are so fast in in perpetual motion...enough to drive one crazy! When I photograph this species my camera is almost always already in vertical orientation as that is how they like to creep up trees. The repost is much nicer, but I'd suggest adding back some at top and a bit also bottom and right, just to give it a bit of breathing room. The tree trunk has good texture to it, and good job retaining focus on the little fella...
