I listened to Daniel's advice and put down some suet on the snow.
After about 70 minutes when everybody gave up on her and left she finally came out.
(First time ever in Guelph)
Thanks for looking.

I like the pose, sharpness, details and the bird really stands out with the snowy BG. I wish the snow in front of the birds left leg wasn't blocking it. Your patience really paid off. Excellent image Karl!

Karl:

Sharp and well exposed, with good snow. Neat to get a rare one!

Good comp as well.

Karl, I'm glad my suggestion worked out!! You're patience paid off nicely. Nice unobstructed view here, I only wish you would have gotten a more parallel angle with the body...nothing another 70 minutes can't solve!:t3

Congrats on this rarity, Karl, and for obtaining a fine image of her. Yes to another 70 minutes and more poses. Share if you do, I'd love to photograph this bird.

Very sharp. The bird looks perfect. The belly is a bit blue. Toning down the snow would improve the image. All in all, very well done.

Super details on the bird. I think Artie might be onto something with toning down the snow just a bit. It's as though the snow is shining in my eyes and not allowing me to fully appreciate your bird.
