Beautifully sharp excellent exposure, I agree about a little blending of the background, I would even consider recropping and adding canvas as necessary to place the bird more in line with rule of thirds, you would probably lose the vertical part of the perch but I don't think that would matter.

Good action and timing on your part! I'm OK with most of the BG and its' texture, it's just the brighter white spot at left that needs to be retouched (perhaps using a low opacity clone brush, say 30-40%). I agree you could lose the vertical part of the perch...it's pretty close to the edge anyhow.
