I captured this image last Monday at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. The morning was quite foggy.

Nikon D7000, Nikon 70-300mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF shot at 300mm, 1/1250, F/5.6, ISO 640, post processed in Lightroom 5 and Photoshop Elements to remove a couple sticks touching the body of the bird.

Hi Joseph, lots of detail on the heron, and nicely framed between the foliage in the far BG. I like the hint of blues in the BG too. Maybe a bit tight below, so more room would have worked, but I presume you dont have it, and I would run some NR on the BG.

I think this is just beautiful, one that could easily be in an Audubon book, just beautiful...

This image is VERY appealing, Joseph. As Diane mentioned above, it has a very artistic feel. If you have any extra canvas and it wouldn't change the look, I might make the crop a little looser. Well done!

Other then the points made above I wish there weren't any back ground elements so close to the tip of his beak. Other then that it has a very nice feel to it. I think the moss on the right balances this image and gives it a nice sense of depth

Hey Joseph, So much to like here, It sure gives me a sense of Audubon also. I wish the tip of the bill was free on the moss, but a great image. Do you have more?

I offer my apologies for my less than timely response. I had the flu decide it wanted to take residence in my body and I have been fighting that off for the last week not wanting to do much else. Thank you all for viewing and commenting. I shall look into the suggestions offered to improve the image. Thank you all.
