Owl Yoga

[Marina Scarr]

This Great Horned Owl and its sibling had just fledged the previous day. When I returned to the nest the following day, neither fledgling could be found. It took me about 30 mins to track them down, and it was no easy task. This one took a break to give a little wing stretch. Interesting that he chose a perch which allowed him a view of the Gulf at sunset. Smart bird.

Classic wing stretch Marina with the head dipped. I like the warm colours and good to have a clean BKG with no distracting elements. Nice that there is enough distance between wing tip and tree trunk so they are not touching/overlapping.

I'm with your Owl Marina can't wait for a view of the gulf, just booked a couple of weeks on Lido Key Sarasota. Sorry I digress, never seen an Owl in this pose before looks like it needs to hang on, not usually a fan of birds against the sky but this works very well, like it a lot.

Crazy pose and you got the youngster at the perfect age. They are really attractive at this stage I think….
