Sadly we didn't quite get one's in flight, the few that were around were intent just on feeding, taken with buddy Jamie D, perhaps we may get some better opportunities later this month or in March.

I would have preferred the BKG to be more diffused and a lot less distracting, but the distance between BKG and subject wasn't huge, plus Jamie was test driving the 500 before weighing up buying the lens or the 600. When close up, this really are, big birds.
Many thanks to those who posted a reply or looked at the previous image.

Nice detail on the bird. The head angle is slightly off and would be a stronger image if the bird was turned this way just a bit. Agree with your critique of the BG.

Nice facial details, light, pose and colours. I agree that the BG is a bit busy as presented.

Thanks folks, and yes a very slight turn towards camera would have been better, but ever so slight I feel. :S3:

Hey Keith have a safe flight, your next location beats this awful weather, I know you will come back with some great images and different ones too, be lucky and if you have internet just drop me a line when you are out there, but remember the time difference from you will be and where I will be. Catch up when you are back.

Oh and if you give me details of your next trip I will have a word with a few bods and see if they can help with some good locations too,. I would suggest you drop Marina a PM for sure.
