Hello,

at time i try to capture the landing pose. The best way i had found is AI-Servo and one (middle) AF-Field. AF-Speed is set fast
I focused the perch and if the bird coming i raised up the lens to the bird. With this procedure i make a lot of sharp pictures.

Thats a fine image Holger. Beautiful open wings with nice light on them. I like the fine hairs under the wings we would never see in most poses.

Seems to be working well for you Holger! Perfect wingspread and I love the silvery sheen on the feathers. A bit of pixilation in the BG due to resizing but I have no doubt the full res version must be awesome! Looks good as is but how about raising the ISO and stopping down to possibly get the perch within dof?

Hi Holger, excellent timing, and just love the show of the full wingspread. I also like how we can see the feet in touch down mode. Good eye contact, and the bird pops against the darker BG. Well captured.

Very nice Holger. The wing spread and the fixed stare are perfect. I like your technique of getting the bird coming in. I might give it a try as I shoot birds coming in to perches allot. Well done

Hi Holger, I like the open wing and 'landing' posture, the nice rich colour certainly makes the subject 'pop', however the BKG does need a little attention to eliminate the pixilation, surprising at ISO400.
