This Caspian Tern was busy fishing over the Milnerton lagoon, and he gave me all sorts of flight poses whilst looking down for his next catch. Taken early morning.

Hi Stuart,
Lovely light and BG.
IQ is excellent.
I would crop this a bit tighter by an inch bottom and right. This would make the bird bigger in the frame and might show the eye up a bit more.
The new lens is working wonders!

Hi Stu, I like the two tone BKG and good to keep the subject in the blue, not overlapping the BKG layers. Although it was early morning, the light does look strong, so well done in retaining the tonal range within the plumage. I like the angle and wings outstretched.

I love Caspian Terns and this is a very nice shot of one Stuart. The pose is unique and the open beak and the concetrated stare looks great. Nice looking colorful BG too. I agree with Gail on a little tighter comp. Well done

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. Here is my repost using Gail's and David's suggestion with an inch off the bottom and right. After taking off the right, it pushed the tern a little too central, so I decided to take a bit off the left too. :w3

Nice big Stuart and cool wing display. Like the way the tail is spread. Well done!

A fine shot Stuart. You must have had a blast as he was busy fishing, Really nice on the open tail feathers.
