I caught this shot of an overwintering Whooper Swan taking a quick nap.

Nikon D7000 300mm F4 AF. 1/1000sec f/4 ISO 500.

Crop, levels and sharpening in Lightroom.

All C&C welcome.

Nice pose and excellent exposure, Iain. It maybe too centered. I would move it higher by taking some off of the top.

Thanks Karl,
Would you just crop from the top or keep the same crop ration and include more at the bottom? I played around with different compositions on this and couldn't really decide which was best.

Hi Iain, I like the sleeping pose with the swan's beak resting on his chest. Whites look good. Comp wise, you could go either way, taking off from either top or bottom will improve the comp.

Nice sleeping pose. The image exudes serenity from. Exposure control and details are top.

I decide to move the crop so the swan is nearer the top and to keep what reflection there is. Then I altered the crop ratio slightly as there was a little too much room at the bottom I thought.

Thanks for the comments.
