Bolsa Chica, december last year

What I like about this shot:
It's full frame and the bird is placed just right in the frame for my taste
What I wish:
The speculum was lit and probably a slightly different bg color.

But all in all, happy to get my first set of Pintail images from this morning session.

All feedback appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi Sid. Superb tracking to get him FF in just the right position, as you say. Not to mention just the right wing position and head angle, and water drops. And tons of detail. Very nicely done.

This is excellent. And full frame to boot! You have to be happy with this one!
perfect "wings down" pose, great complimentary BG and tack sharp.
Yes, it would have been nice to get the speculum lit up but if everything was perfect what would make you go out for more!!

Holy smoke Sid, that's killer. I got some of my best Pintail shots this year at BC this year but this is sick! Perfect flight angle and really well lit. Awesome exposure, detail, HA , BG and the pins are even split apart!
I love waterfowl photography as you know and I must say its one of the best Pintail shots I have ever seen. Those speculums are a funny thing, allot of times they don't light up until the duck is a little past you, depending on the angle of the sun.
I would love to have this in my files. Cant stop looking at it! That one shot was worth the trip down here. See ya soon.

Hey Sid,

Not sure I'd change the bg at all! As mentioned, great wing position, amazing detail, and very solid overall. I'd be thrilled with one of these!

Hi Sid, you nailed the flight pose nicely here, and the trailing water takes it up a few notches. Nothing wrong with the BG colour, it compliments the pintail nicely.
