Another Bufflehead (sorry, can't help myself).
I am able to get a very low angle obviously and they are so used to me that
sometimes they get within arms length.
I might try a Landscape lens one of these days...

1/8000. f6.3, iso1000, 600mm (300 w/ 2x), D800, HH

I like to keep the SS high at my pond for flight and other poses.
This is probably a bit over the top……..

Here is the original out of camera no processing photo for those interested.
I did almost no PP on the one I posted , this is almost perfect Buffle head exposure, 1/8000 on a sunny day!

this is what iso1000 looks like out of the camera with the D800.
Pretty much no noise at all, even in the underexposed areas.

Dan, when you are taking the images at Crystal Springs, how are you getting such a low angle of view? Are you sitting down, laying down, are you in the water? If you are laying down, what are you using for clothes? Do you change clothes prior to getting back into your car?

I am laying down at times, squatting at times, sometimes I put the camera over the bank edge and shoot blind, whatever it takes...
Sort of a silly question.
Same when I hike and wade streams taking landscape photos. The scariest photos I take are night photos standing in the dark next to the surf on the ocean beaches.
I wear crappy clothes to and from. Unless you are a wedding photographer that is kind of what you do if
you want more than snapshots.
DO NOT get in the water at Crystal, I know the volunteers there and they will kick all photographers out if anyone did that.
They do not want anyone feeding the ducks, but they can"t ( or haven't yet) stopped the kids from doing it.
