You've done a couple things differently than what I usually see on the Avian forum.
You are positioned a bit above the bird instead of at eye level.
The surf forms diagonal rather than horizontal lines.
However, those differences don't hurt the picture; the image is very appealing.
The small patch of sand on the bottom left helps anchor the image.

I totally agree with Henry with the way this bird is presented don't know if it would have worked so well without that piece of sand, like this a lot.

A delightful bird and it is nice to see the bird in the surf/foam. Exposure and detail looks good. The light is just a little harsh. In my view the image is in need of rotation. Whilst I accept that you are shooting across a sloping beach, the reflection of the bird's leg should reverse reflect at the horizontal point. This is not always a deadly accurate way to assess but it is often a good starting point.

This is quite a pleasing image, although I think it may have been even more pleasing had you photographed this cutie from a lower angle. The exposure looks spot on,and I am loving all the details in the foam.

Thanks all, I would have liked to get this at a lower POV, but the background was way too messy.
