About 75% of full frame.
Full Sun, which shows you can get those beaks exposed right in the sun
although tougher to do. I think the exposure looks pretty good on this guy.

I like the way you've held the whites and still brought out full detail in the blacks. Very nice exposure. Maybe a touch oversaturated in the greens and blue of the water?

I like the low angle, exposure control, details, sharpness, HA and ripples in front of the Coot. Well done Dan!

Details and exposure are spot on, Dan. Water and light both gorgeous. It's always great to see common/overlooked species presented so beautifully.

Lovely image, I like to low angle and exposure. I have not really paid much attention to photographing Coots (they are very common in Florida in the winter), you image makes me want so pay more attention to them.

Hi Dan, excellent exposure on a difficult character, and I totally agree, their beaks can be really challenging to get right. Good low perspective, good HA, and overall the coot is nice and sharp. I quite like the colourful water as is.

Your right, the exposure is perfect and you can achieve this in full sun. The angle of the sun in relation to the subject make a big difference and this one is lined up perfectly. The eye and the bill look great too. Well done Dan

Ooh, I like this one.
Great techs and that perfect HA make me wish this was mine.
The water colors really show off the bird nicely.
The best part of this image is the exposure on the beak which is perfect,
