I have been quite busy lately and have not posted much, but I always check out the great images posted on here.

Here's one from a few weeks ago. It's a male Rufous Whistler in full song. The light conditions were a bit tricky, but I was lucky that he started singing when the light was relatively even. A few minutes later and my perch would have been half in shade.

Sweet bird, fantastic singing pose, lovely perch and bg. Good exposure in tough conditions, with nice detail in the white throat. Only nit is some haloing on the perch, maybe the result of masking?

Hi Bill,
I think the haloing you are mentioning is the specific nature of this plant. I thought as well that there's halos around the edges of the leafs, but when I zoom in I can see that there's a thin layer of whiteish hairs around the edge of each leaf. That creates the sort of funny look in the web image.
