Tricoloured Heron

This was taken at the North Beach in Fort Desoto, Florida. This Heron was very cooperative. I took some images with the hopes of getting an image like this. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

I love these photogenic herons. Nice comp, and I like the pose with the neck just clear of the back. I guess the slight head turn in your direction is a double-edged sword. Had it been parallel to the sensor plane someone would have wished for a head turn; as it is a smaller aperture might have helped.

Thanks Bill. I was getting images of him on the run and when he stopped I grabbed a couple of shots but didn't change my settings.

Amazing details for sure. With the FL and against blue BG, I would have stopped down more to get the bill sharp.
