Dan, nice shot. The glow at the horizon is the fishing boats. Slight fog in the image, however, I like the look as the starlight passes through.

Thanks for sharing...Terry Johnson... Lake Oswego, Oregon

Great sky, reflection and rock. I think I'd prefer a little less light on the rock, but that's just a nit.

Really nice image here Dan, composition wise I might lose a little bit of the foreground.

Interesting to see a comparison with this lens. I'm surprised by the very complex distortion of the horizon line.

Diane,
It has a ton of distortion..
It gets raves from star photographers which is why I got it.
It does have really good manual focus and sharp corners.
ACR does not recognize it, I used nikon 14-24 to correct but it did not work that we'll.
Definately not the best for ocean horizons which are the most critical.

Dan, If you use Lightroom, you may want to install this profile for your lens.

Very nice capture, but the lens distortion does take away a bit from the image. Hope this helps!!

Hi Dan - nice nightscape. I like the light on the rock and the clouds/moon. I also noticed the lens distortion. There's also a halo around the rocks. I might prefer the largest rock to be a bit more off-center.

Rachel

Hi DAn, a very nice scene...I would prefer a little more space between the moon and the haystack...to me it looks a little too smooth..maybe the Topaz DeNoise settings? I do like the curvature caused by the distortion of the lens.

Late to this one Dan - nice scene and exposure well handled to get star detail and the moon vivid. Besides the distortion mentioned, the overall image lacks fine detail and there's a smoothness which I presume comes from your application of Topaz noise reduction...perhaps you were a bit heavy-handed?
