Lots of great action happening here Sameer. I like that all the birds in the frame are sharp due to the F9 aperture and S/S. Well done there. The thing I like the most though is the single pelican sat to the right watching the action; with his bill agape I can just imagine him laughing his head off at the others :)))) Great shot, well done.

I agree with Dave about the bird in front, commenting on the action, makes the composition! The splash also helps balance the comp. as well.

It would be possible to do a much tighter crop with just the 3 back birds and the closest to the bird splash, to make it work as well, but even for the D800e that size of crop might be too much!

How big of crop is the image as posted?

This image makes for a great story. Love the splash and the pelican on the LR with the open beak!! The fact that you can see the fish flying is a huge plus.

Yes, Dave Johnson. Lots of actions happened from 11:11:59.90 to 11:12:03.70. Less than 4 seconds. I got 11 keepers in RAW. Yes, the LR bird can't be left out. Thank you.

Thank you very much Marina Scarr. In fact I couldn't see the fish dropped at the time of shooting as far as I remember, may be due to fast actions happening and to keep the action composed.
