Amazing image, Troy. This image is all about the dramatic lighting and you've executed this perfectly imo. Excellent!

I do like the dark BG and sharp details, but I'm not a fan of that HA, I wish he was looking at us :S3:

Troy this looks superb ,the lighting really makes it for me, see what is meant by the full frontal but I like the way that something looks to have got the Owls attention in the direction it is looking.

Looking good, but the background a bit too dark.

I LOVE the dark BG here, Troy. It adds a lot of mystery. While some theatrical lighting doesn't work for me, the light on this one falls in just the right places. I am good with this pose as well b/c the light hits the owl just right, although I might like it even better if he were facing just a tad more this way to better see his entire beak. I might add a touch of sharpening around the bird's beak. I also like your choice of composition.

I like the composition, dark BG, IQ and oak perch. Well done Troy.

Habitat and low light really captures the habitat Troy but tend to agree on the HA comments. I don't think the owl needed the be locking eye contact but a glance more in your general direction would have made it stronger. Not a deal breaker and that was the only thing I pondered when I first viewed the image.

Cheers
