This CHE was sitting on this tree overlooking a steep valley.I used Digital Photo Professional to make some basic adjustments.......Canon 400D,55-250IS,ISO 100,1/320,f5.6.

I have never seen this species before and this is quite a nice image.
Have you cropped this image? For me it would be better to have a little more space for the bird to look into on the right. I would also crop the dark branch that is just showing at the top and try and clone the sick that looks like it is coming out of the birds back.
The head angle police will say that the head should be looking towards rather than away but I don't think it would matter if there were more space for it to look into.

I must start with I am a newbie and I know nothing. I agree with the cloning of the branches and I would darken the BG just a tad. Again the 0.02$ from the newbie.

A sharp shot, good tonalities and a beautiful bird!

Good comments above!

You have a lovely background on this bird. I would like to see a little less of a crop. While I am not a proponent of removing objects, I would personally remove the branches in the upper left side of the frame as I find them quite distracting. Did you get any shots with the bird looking a little bit toward you?

Good points from Iain and Marina. I didn't see the dark branch just coming in along the top edge until now. Both are easy to fix.
