Spent another morning and late afternoon with my little friend.

Nice work given the BG and lighting. My attempts at this species have led to disaster every time.

Hi Richard, I would like to see more eye contact with the viewer, ie face looking to camera. Be nice if you are able to coax him/her down so the background helps separate the subject more, although this is their typical location and they blend in, oh so well. However I do like the height level on this, looking down at the subject is never great IMHO. Not sure if the hint of BKG top LH corner is adding much, perhaps loosing it via cropping, WDYT?

This is really nice Richard. Your field craft is paying great dividends.
I find myself appreciating how well the owl blends in with his surroundings and at the same time wishing for more separation between the owl and the tree.
A hard trade-off.
I love the clear view of the feet and agree that a picture with the owls looking directly at you would have more impact and add a pop of yellow color to a neutral color palette,
