Green-winged Teal

Note the camera body used here. (2006, six months into by Avian photography journey) My only decent image of a GW teal to date, I hope to change that this coming winter having found two pairs in a local pond. Stay tuned.

Always fun to look back. The fancy equip. doesn't always yield the best images, you have to be out there!

My first DSLR was a Rebel XT so this brings back good memories as it served me quite well! It was matched up to a cheapo Sigma 70-300 at first mind you, but still good times as a fledging digital bird photographer:c3:. The teal is a bit low in the frame IMO, and the image could use a bit of CW rotation but I like the colours and details.

nice low angle, it sure doesn't have the IQ of 1DX but it is fun to go back and see how long we have come. My first Canon body was 20D

My first digital camera was actually a Nikon D50, then changed over to Canon which was a 20D. :w3

Thanks everyone. No room below....I had absolutly zero idea of what I was doing at the time, lucky I got anything in focus and exposed properly! I'm going to target this species this winter and see if I can't do better.
