A beautiful image Mike.
I like all the shades of blue in the image.
Low POV and exposure are perfect. Love the details in the whites and all those drops on the head.
I can see a version with a bit more room on the RHS and cloning out one of the catchlights in the eye but love this as is.

Love it Mike!
The bill looks as if it is made from stainless steel!:w3
Agree with Gail on space and lovely angle.
IMHO would take slither off bottom.
Andre.

Lovely one, the IQ is fantastic, the blues are lovely
i like the beak
the small water droplets on the head of the loon makes it sweet.

Mike:
Great shooting angle, drops, exposure, sharpness.
Interesting how red the eye still is. Generally in adults is goes a bit rusty with winter plumage.
Where was this taken, if I may ask?
Cheers

Yes to superb IQ and sharpness. Yes to a bit off the bottom. Love the water droplets on the head. Love the low angle but not the horizon line through the bird's head.... A bit lower or a bit higher might have helped there. All in all, superb.

Wonderful. I wouldn't change a thing on the comp... Is there a catchlight/flash light/other reflection in the center of the pupil?

Thanks Randy for the comments, the bird was photographed on
the niagara river, it is an adult bird if that makes any difference.

Mike:
It does make a difference, the juvi's eye is much more brown colored than the adults, but even the adults does darken somewhat in non breeding plumage.
