The common small nightjar of the western US and Canada. Nightjars usually don't show the white corners of the tail when perched so I really like this image because it shows this character.
Canon 7D, 600, 1/250 sec; f/14; ISO 200 Levels, slight color correction, sharpened head, two dead blades of grass removed during processing.
