The Black Phoebe seems to be pretty common in California, but not one we get to see on the East Coast. This is cropped from the horizontal; otherwise nothing except a little NR and USM.

Bill:
Interesting perch, nice dof.
For personal taste, I might trim a sliver off the top.
Perhaps just a touch bright as well, but again, a matter of taste.
Cheers

Bill I liked your other post of this bird but I do think this is better, love the pose ,perch and bg,when it comes to cropping I usually get it wrong so I better not say anything.

Love bird, image and pose. I agree on a tad off of the top. Lovely details and light.

The bird seems to be tilting it's head away from us as it looks up. I'd prefer it if our eyes connected.
However, it looks technically correct.
Were you using a tripod?

Henry, I agree that a little better head turn would have been nice. I was using a Gitzo with Mongoose.

I really like this one!
Great BG and light.
Like the curves in the perch.
A bit off the top and you are good to go!!

Hi Bill, I might try adding a Curves adjustment to the subject to get some more mid tone in the body, I feel it looks a little light in depth, whites look well handled.

A very common bird here along with the Say's. Nice looking shot of this one. I like the looking up pose and the BG sets him off nicely. Exposure looks right on too. Well done

Thanks everyone. I always appreciate your comments and suggestions. Here's a repost with a little off the top, and a very slight mid-tone Curves adjustment. Couldn't find the HA Adjustment tool.
