Another from North Carolina a few weeks ago. Some distortion of the original shot -- the edge of a gravel road angled up into the LR corner, so I stretched that corner down to get rid of it, view-camera style. Some cloning, Topaz Simplify and a tweak to calm down Hue and Saturation. (A friend of mine is inclined to say of Simplify images that they would make lovely casino carpets....)

This is something like what I'd like for an image of mine. Which Topaz Simplify filter did you use? I like the painterly look . The touch of orange on the front low branches add a nice poop of color to keep it from being almost monotone green. Angling the canvas is a neat trick I'll have to try sometime if I need to get rid of something like that.

Thanks, Hazel. There sure wasn't much color this year, at least where I was. It was Simplify 4 BuzSim. I rarely use any of the sliders except Simplify Size and Detail Strength. Then I'll sometimes do a layer of Viveza's Structure.

I love being able to distort corners like that -- you can get rid of all sorts of nuisance stuff that way, and do perspective corrections by pulling out the upper two corners.

Diane,

Greetings. Great use of Simplify. I really like the overall color & feel.

Hazel,

I think Simplify would be just the thing for the fall colors image you posted a few days ago.

Cheers,

-Michael-

Nice work with the simplify filter and corrections that you made with a pleasing early fall green and yellow color palette.

This is beautiful! I am a big fan of Buz Sim (what ever that stands for!) as it does simplify edges, giving a softness to the image, and boosting the colors. Lovely composition with the vertical trunks, overlapping layers of leaves and the gentle fall colors. I agree the distort corner idea is a good trick!

Love the soft painterly effect. I see a subtle diagonal line of foliage which compliments the vertical trees. Topaz simplify appears to be a popular plug-in. Need to check it out.

Very beautiful, it does look like a painting. I like how the lightest part of the sky is next to the lightest tree. I find my eye taking in the whole frame. Very nice.

I'd rather see this on the wall than as a carpet. :-) Another lovely forest scene! Just the right amount of Simplify. The subtle colors work well. The only distraction is the small patch of white sky upper right. I, too, distort photos to serve myh purposes.
