Hi Nick how's it going with you? You have some smashing detail on this bird and I recon your colour is spot on! is that an insect in its beak?

Cheers Keith.

It's going great thanks Keith, would you be Keith Mitchell from Lincolnshire? Thanks for the comments. Yes it's a fly on it's tongue hence the thread title.

Nice close-up and beautiful yellows. Neat feeding action you got, although I do wish you had more SS to properly freeze it all. I'd also consider darkening the pupil as it ids a bit hazy from the pale-ish reflection in it. I love the single tiny water drop on the forehead!

Yes Nick Keith from down the road from you sorry I did not take more notice of your title. :eek3: Maybe see you around.

Cheers Keith.

Super detail around the eye. Looks like a partial membrane causing the haziness. Nice capture, fly and all.

Nick,

Killer capture! Detail here is superb.

I would have liked to see a bit more dof (although I'm not sure how much more you would have needed to get the beak and fly in focus).

This was a shot that needed both more DOF and shutter speed and unfortunately it was difficult to give both to the required amount without increasing the iso. Thanks for the critique.
