Photo taken on a boat around 2 hours off Port Fairy at 9:10am 27/10/13. Clone stamp used and canvas added to right, exposure lifted and slight sharpening. back ground sharpness reduced and noise reduced. 50% crop

Hello Merv

Nice topside view.... It cant be easy swinging a 500 around on a boat trying to track these birds, so well done. Did you notice the RH wingtip? Something has happened there that have made parts of the feathers the same colour as the background. I also thing a little more sharpening of the bird would help..

Hi Don, Just looked at the raw image and the wing tip and this how it came out of the camera, must be the lighting or something?.
anyway thanks for the tip, i'll give it a bit more sharpening. :)

Just looks like a couple of rough feathers that have parts torn off. I'm really digging the details of the plumage on the topside of this bird, well done, and for that you are forgiven having the subject flying away from us:S3:
