I like the peaceful tone of this shot but the branches on the bottom edge pull my eye too much. I did a quick edit to see what it might look like without the sticks and I think it makes for an even better image. I can post it if someone would like to see it.

Hi Stuart,
IMO everyone else was right on in the assesment. While the mood was outstanding, the fg branches really did overpower the image. I think the re post by leroy has a very serene feel overall.........and even though i don't know what the object on the left is (geese?)..........it adds a bit of balance to the overall shot. Even had you walked forward to avoid the FG branches.........the vastness of the bland FG may have overpowered the scene. The pano crop is extremely effective here as it minimizes the dead space while emphasizing the mood all around!
A littlle careful cropping can go a long way. Nicely done

Good discussion on strengthening this image and the repost shows how. Overall the mood and composition were right; it was the FG branches that had to go.

There has been a fair amount of images in the Landscape Forum that through commenting have ended up panos. I would not want to move this thread to the pano forum but instead invite the photographer to repost the pano crop image in the Pano forum with a link to the Landscape forum discussion.

A nice image here with a good feel. Love the mist. I agree whole heartedly with the covered nits. Repost would be nice framed imo.
