Maximum Wing Flap

Here's an American Wigeon I photographed a couple of weeks ago. We're definitely starting to get an influx of winter ducks here in Albuquerque.

The pose and details are wonderful. A bit tight in the frame for me with more room needed for the virtual tail and feet.

Now that's an all-out effort. In addition to the Widgeon, I like the golden highlights on the water. I also thought it seemed a bit tight in the frame.

Hi Doug, I really like the curved form of the wigeon from the wingflap, and excellent feather detail on the near wing. Good low shooting angle too.

Yep, that's definitely a maximum wing flap for sure! I know what it's like out there, so I'm not sure how you managed to isolate this guy so well.

One suggestion, next time get down on your belly for that low(er) perspective. I have faith you'll get back up with no problem. :)
