Caught this Great Egret a few months ago as he/she took off from a berm it was sitting on early in the morning. Even though the right wing is hidden, I like the pose and the eye contact. Hope you do too.

Thanks as always for looking and for your input. I appreciate it.

Very nice David.
I really like the BG colors and the mud droplets.
Would love a bit more room on the left.
The whites on the body look awesome- they almost have a satin sheen look to them. The whites on the neck seem a bit grey. Did you do some burning?
A lovely image,
gail

I am with Gail on all her points, won't repeat them. I will add though that the colors in your images are just stunning.

Thanks Gail and Grace for the comments.
Glad you like the white in this. I did not do anything to the neck, that's just the way it came out, must be the angle.

Great shot Dave, the BG really sets off the clean whites, some of my images from that morning had some similar issues with the neck feathers, they probably were not finished moulting.

Beautiful David. Great BG and detail as well as exposure. I love the pose too and only wish for a visible second wing.

The head turn, forward wing and the nice background makes this image looking very nice, David.

Love the pose, your perfect exposure and the layered bg, David. A bit more room to the left would work nicely too but fine as is.

Great take-off pose; super detail and exposure on the near wing; awesome bg, and I love the little droplets by the feet. I suppose a stop down might have made the head as sharp as the wing, or maybe just a touch more USM there, or is it my eyes?

Hi David, excellent exposure on the whites, and we have a great view of the near wing - shows up the feather detail nicely. Just love the colours in the BG.
