Is this a largish crop, just curious? I like the way you can see how the subject grasps the reed and as Marina said, I too like the over the shoulder look.

Nice look back pose.
The single blade of grass provides a nice minimalist look to the image. The IQ is a bit off- ? large crop or focus point on the tail and wing tips?
I wish the BG was less uniform. I feel like the image needs a little "pop",

Thanks everyone. Steve this was shot in landscape orientation. I just cropped to portrait. So maybe 50%crop. After working with 5D3 the files from 7D look a bit gritty / sooty as you have been telling me. But I just like the "reach" I get for smaller subjects. Am considering selling 7D in favor of 6D as second body and 5D3 will be my primary body.

Go for the BEST you can afford and that does the job you want it to do. I do hope I am not in trouble with Mrs Aurangabadkar, I did warn you about the photographic bug and the cost implications in the future. :bg3::bg3:
