Here's a Green Heron that was managing a slope down a pond-side bank. For a second or so it raised its crest, usually something done out of nervous reaction or fear. I suspect it lost its footing for a fraction of a second and reacted in this startled way:S3:

Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4 TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/200s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, about 80% FF, some bright grasses toned down, and a couple of others trimmed down.

Hi Daniel,
The IQ and exposure are excellent as always.
I love the "do"!
The diagonal lines of the grass on the slope and BG grasses adds visual interest and is very pleasing.
It can be tricky to show enough of the bird without the grasses being too distracting but you did it!!
I would like a bit more room on the bottom for the virtual foot.

Beautiful shot Daniel, I love the lines the grasses make. Especially that they are in two distinct sections that go diagonally from side to side. Sharpness on the bird is spot on as usual.

This is such a well executed image, Dan. Agree with the great comments above.

Stunner Daniel, very different diagonal lines and they work to nicely. The bird pops against the grasses, super shot.
