This was a real highlight from my recent trip to Peru. This species is usually pretty shy and secretive. So when I saw an opportunity to do a set up I was pretty excited about it :-)

Camera Model: Canon EOS 7D
Shutter speed: 1/100 sec
Aperture: 4
Exposure mode: Av
Flash: On
ISO: 800
Lens: EF600mm f/4L IS II USM

In case anyone is interested I added a gallery of images from my recent Peru trip to the "articles" section of my website - www.glennbartley.com

Glen, this is a highlight for any one viewing the avian section right now! Fantastic shot of this beautiful, colourful bird, killer BG and perch, lovely pose, stunning detail! Great crop too, what can I say, this ticks all the boxes for me-congratulations!

Kind regards,

Awesome image Glenn. What I like most about this is not just the great IQ, BG and perch but knowing how hard it is to get shots of this family of birds. Well done! You must have been super chuffed. (Any reason you are not posting a larger sized image?)
