This metallic looking Darkling Beetle (Family Tenebrionidae) was photographed in my lightbox while it was walking toward me - during the Bugshot workshop in Belize. 1D IV, 100 mm macro, 1/160, f/16, ISO 100, 2 radio-triggered 430EX flashes, hand held. All comments are welcome and appreciated.

Steve I think this is one of the best yet! Absolute KO! Wonderful DOF and excellent detail/colouration without lots of highlights.
As you know I am not a massive fan of the white backgrounds in general but in this case I think it works very well indeed. This really is an attention seeker I keep scrolling back to take another look.
What is that expression you have over there - WAY TO GO!

Yes to stunning. With all the incredible detail and sharpness I gotta say that I love the faint shadows. In short: a killer!

Wow! Are you sure that isn't a bronze sculpture?

Very impressive critter, and you nailed the image. Light, texture, detail--this one has them all. Truly excellent work!
