Just rediscovered this one from 2010. Guy I bought these flowers from swore the name is "conr flower," but I can find no evidence there is such a thing.

Hi Mitch. This one has a nice feel to it with an interesting mix of colors and just enough in focus to give my eye something to lock onto. Very well done! (It looks like you used every accessory in your camera bag to get this shot! :S3: )

I too like the OOF look and the wide aperture. But the image has a rather sickly YELLOW cast. Ran and average blur color balance at about 75%. Whaddya think?

Thanks for offering your interpretation, Artie. I see what you were going for, but the OP more closely reflects the actual colors of the scene. Petals were definitely purple and your greens seem too green to me. I downloaded yours and blended it with mine; I think the result is better than OP or your version:

This is a quick and dirty blend of the two--I'll have to go back and rework my master when I have a bit more time. Thanks for helping me improve my image.

Got wrapped up in blending interpretations and neglected to respond to your post, Steve. But thank you. And you're pretty close RE: pulling all the closeup accessories out of my bag for this one. Still had the Nikon 6T diopter in reserve.

The repost is lovely. YAW.
