Hi Micheal,
I like the wing position very much.
Your composition is good.
The IQ has suffered a bit- mostly on the head and eye.
I am impressed that you were able do so well capturing this songbird on take-off.
I also see a bit of cloning leftovers or a smudge along left lower edge- about an inch up. Easy to fix,
Gail

Good critique by Gail. I am seeing the movement in the eye as well. Great light under the wings. I am surprised at 1/5000 of a second you didn't get a sharp bird.

Nice job catching him in flight, with great wing position and light on underwing. Not easy to catch these little guys; whenever I try to get them taking off, they've popped out of the frame before I can press the shutter and all I get is a tail. Gail's critique noted.

Gail, Marina, Bill,
Thanks much for your comments. They are greatly appreciated. They are very quick to launch. I think it flew just oof and the large crop is pushing it... a larger environmental might work to with some of the IQ issues. Oh, and I see the clone error... Thanks, Gail.
Cheers,
