This was taken at the Masai Mara with the 500 II+1.4X III and 5D3. Wish I had not used Auto-ISO. But the image did turn out well despite the late morning light.

I like this one a lot. Neat pose, almost sinister, with the wings hunched up, the look back head position, and of course the prominent bill, all add to the effect.

I like the comp as well.

Strong sense of the environment, without overpowering the bird.

Greetings. The color and composition make this one for me. The stare... as Randy says almost sinister (almost?). Not sure if lightening the eye just a bit might interfere with that, but I would try it if it were mine. Thanks for posting.

Very nice image. IQ is excellent.I like the brown and tan color palette.
I really like the fly on his primary and the lone white feather on his back. Good head turn as well.TFS
