These have been a mighty challenge to catch in flight but the wind that last couple of days was a help as it slowed their speed down somewhat but not much < smile > They are plentiful right now at Wakodahatchee and lots of fun.

Hey Judy,

This is fantastic.. Not an easy bird to photograph in flight. The wings are well exposed and very sharp. Excellent work!

PS: I will be down in your area this weekend!!

Terrific mid-flight capture. Good job; they move fast!

Judy, Nothing more fun than catching the little ones in flight. And you did not need 6 flashes! Great detail and the BG addsthe last touch. Bob

It's quite an accomplishment getting sharp flight shots of martins, swifts, and swallows. You seem to have nailed this one! Congrats!

Judy:

Great capture! I have burned up many electrons trying to capture good images of these darting devels. I usually end up with bits and pieces, or for some reason a beautiful shot of them flying away! I love the majesty of some of the big birds, but the challenge on these common little guys is irresistible.

Having tried and failed miserably last year to capture Purple Martins in flight it's good to see that it can be done. Very well done. I may have another go at the weekend if the weather is favourable. Excellent image.
