While out last Saturday morning with good friend Daniel Cadieux , we were fortunate enough to get this Sparrow to come in for a closer look , I know the perch is large but I think it balances the shot nicely , 20D w/ 200 F/2.8L, manual exposure, F/8.0 @ 1/400 sec, ISO 800

Hi Wayne- This is a really good image with the bird, perch and fresh green leaves in the BG really nicely balanced. I would give more space above the bird's head. Also for my taste the head seems over-sharpened.

I like the pose and details. The perch looks a bit oversharpened and the branches in the BG are a bit distracting. It's hard to get these sparrows with a clean BG, I know. :)

HI Wayne,

Very nice pose and perch. I do find the BG extremely busy and is taking away from your main subject.

I would definitely tame that perch. It's just too sharp. The bird does not appear oversharpened to me. I do agree that the BG is distracting, but you can PS that if you want.

Thanks alot guys I appreciate the pointers , as Axel said these birds are hard to get on a nice perch in the open , to date this is the best Ive been able to get but tomorrow is another day ,,, :-)
