This shot was taken back in August in the field just at the back of our house, it was an early morning shot before it got too frisky. Trouble was that the butterfly was reasonably obliging but there was an intermittent breeze, hence the monopod as opposed to tripod. Try as I might have I could not quite get all the wings in good focus.

This is a beautifully marked butterfly, and those oranges just glow! Have your ever tried a plamp to anchor the vegetation? This would stabilize the perch, if you can attach the plamp without causing the insect to flee.

I have not used a plamp Nancy but I sometimes take a clothes peg with me and that often works, this day it was just not practicable.
