Great Horned Owl - Tucson, Arizona, USA - May

A young Great Horned Owl just a few days out of the nest captured against a dramatic desert sunrise.

This image just blows me away, Rick. That sky showcases this fledgling so well, and his look is so riveting. If this is full frame, I would take a big chunk off of the right and go sqare.

Striking image, Rick. I agree with Marina, taking off from the right should work.

Awesome colours, and the perch is gnarly cool! A bit of a flashed look but the effect is kinda neat here. I like Marina's idea of a square crop.

sunrise colors are lovely, talons showing on both sides of the body is a great touch. the oof stick on the right side could go, but this is one beautiful image, Rick.

Oh wow, this looks like it came straight out of a studio (in a good way). The background sunrise gives it a surreal feel. Nice touch with the flash.

Very nice! Love all of it except the branch on the rt. I like the suggestions on cropping from the rt to remove the branch. Awesome colors and detail.

Very striking image.
The owl looks great and the background is amazing.
I don't like square crops but I think this may be an exception to my rule as there is a bit too much space on the right hand side.
